Swedish House Mafia x Absolut Vodka – Greyhound

I first expressed my love for Swedish House Mafia‘s latest song ‘Greyhound’ a few months ago on this blog, when an early version of the song was featured in their Madison Square Garden set and subsequently made it onto Soundcloud. Now, three months later with the release of the official version only scheduled for tomorrow, Absolut Vodka has released a music video, as part of some new advertsising campaign they have going with the Swedes. The video is pretty cringeworthy for a number of reasons, most of which will be immediately obvious once you hit play. It seems that in the future, dog tracks are no longer frequented by middle-aged men with a gambling problem, but have become a hobby for steam punks with a penchant for impractical head- and eyewear. And in what can only be a recognition of animal rights, the racing dogs of the future are machines which are controlled remotely by superstar DJs via their digital headphones and digital mixers. Makes sense.
