My favourite Venn diagram

As a rule of thumb, any sentence containing the words ‘favourite’ and ‘Venn diagram’ is most likely an oxymoron. Venn diagrams will usually feature in things I dread, such as statistics classes, motivational talks, confused sociology presentations and other equally joyless events, and anyone who suggests that you explain your idea with the help of such a diagram is really just telling you that he has no interest whatsoever in what you have to say but doesn’t mind if you waste your time drawing some circles. In rare instances, however, Venn diagrams are ingenious – for example if you are trying to work out how a platypus would come to play a shoulder synthesizer!
